Brett Schalpfer : MD/CEO - BCCOMM

As one of the first U.S. Bitcoin investment firms, BCCOMM is the leading blockchain investment firm and one of the largest institutional owners of cryptocurrencies and other Investment Platforms. Our mission is to act as the catalyst for widespread blockchain adoption and innovation. BCCOMM family formally known as Potential Unlimited, LLC was founded in 2001 by Brett Schalpfer and a group of expert exchange market traders. After long consultations and analytical investigations on brokerage service market, it was decided to create a company, which could fill unsatisfied demand in the area of trust asset management services on the crypto market. The name BulletHill Capital Management was introduced by CEO BCCOMM and reputable millionaire trader Brett Schalpfer.

At the initial stage company’s business was focused on providing trust services to a relatively small coterie of institutional and big private investors. Later we understood the necessity of entry into a broad market in order to reach the audience of private investors, requiring the services of effective asset management. As a result in 2011 the development strategy of the company was changed as BCCOMM made a huge investment and its Internet office was opened – http://www.bccomm.net/

Clients who have entrusted us with managing their funds get an opportunity to minimize their risks (regardless of the chosen investment strategy), and this represents one of the primary targets when working on the lucrative but risky crypto market. The Investment Policy Committee is a six-member portfolio management team, responsible for making strategic investment decisions affecting the client’s portfolios. This centralized decision-making approach is different from the rest of the industry.

The Investment Policy Committee (IPC) collaboratively makes all strategic investment decisions affecting clients’ portfolios. Though the IPC functions as a team, each member focuses his efforts on particular segments of investment strategy. While all six committee members conduct macroeconomic, political and sentiment analysis in support of the firm’s strategies, Brett Schalpfer (Founder & Co-Chief Investment Officer) plays the primary role in this process. The other team members profiled below are primarily responsible for the selection of securities within the firm’s strategies, overseeing BCCOMM Investments’ in-house research efforts, portfolio engineering and implementation, and the firm’s technological research resources.

Name: Larry Cohen

Position: Trade Manager

Strategy: Long/Short Equity

Soon after leaving the comforts of Julian Robertson’s lair (Tiger Management) in May 2008 and setting up his own shop, Larry Cohen was tested. The financial tsunami that was building subsequently took the US market down more than one-third by year’s end. But the tiger cub, whose fund was seeded by his mentor, showed his mettle. He was down less than 3 percent by the end of that year, and then made more than that back in just the first month of 2009.

Mr. Larry’s outperformance during the financial crisis has helped sustain the fund’s superior performance over the S&P 500 through June 2014, driving fund assets over $300m. During this time, he has generated net cumulative returns of 10.4 per cent, while the S&P returned 7.8 percent and the MSCI World 4.5 percent. BCCOMM’s outperformance was realised with annualised standard deviation under 10.5 percent, while the S&P 500’s exceeded 17 percent and MSCI World’s was nearly 19 percent. It is no surprise that BCCOMM is virtually uncorrelated to US and World equity markets.

Name: Migdalia Steele

Position: Equity Analyst and Trader

Strategy: Scalping (Trading)

Migdalia joined BulletHill Capital and Contract Occurrence Management Merchants in 2012 after working in the Business Development Group at Equity Services, Inc. (ESI). Her responsibilities there included investment manager due diligence and business development. Prior to joining ESI, Migdalia worked as an Analyst at John Hancock and as an Associate at Oppenheimer & Co. in Boston.
